On August 7th, the Kingwood/Humble community will join together
with hundreds of others to help assist the family of 16-yr-old Rachel
Zientek, with their mounting medical expenses as she fights to
recover from a fiery plane crash in Alaska that has left her with burns
on a large percentage of her body and other very serious injuries.
Her father, Officer Mike Zientek, is taking time off as a Houston police
officer (who serves Kingwood/Forest Cove) to be with Rachel in
Seattle, where she is in serious condition at the burn intensive care
unit of Harborview Medical Center. She will likely remain in the
hospital for two to three months, then undergo in-patient
rehabilitation.
You can help us help Rachel and her family, by donating in-kind items
for this event, sponsoring a booth, or making an underwriting
donation which will help offset the costs of this fundraiser and thus,
help us send more to the Zientek family. By supporting this event,
you are not only helping Rachel, but also her entire family. Rachel
Zientek's father, Mike, is thankful to all who helped rescue his
daughter and for everything that they did to save her life and the
lives of those who survived. "I'm just so thankful that she's alive and
the injuries we can deal with."
Our goal for THE RACHEL ZIENTEK BIG TOP FUND RAISER & BBQ is to
raise at least $10,000 at this 6 hour event, which represents less than
$1.00 per resident in Humble and Kingwood. Please help us reach
that goal with your support. If you wish, you may mail all or part of
your payment amount today in the self-addressed stamped envelope
enclosed with this letter. Or, one of our 9 committee members (or
other volunteers) will be happy to pick up your check, cash or
donation, from your place of business.
